[The feed comes on to show Apollo in scrubs behind the front desk of the Azalea PokéCenter. It's been a slow day and he hasn't had very much to do besides stand there and think about the problem that the rain is hammering home. He hates to admit it, but it looks like he's stuck having to ask other humans for help on this one.]

Does anyone know how to build a shelter that's good for all the seasons? Ilex Forest isn't mountainous enough to have caves. I was thinking that digging some kind of burrow in a hill would work, but I don't know how to make a roof that would stay up and water wouldn't come through. I know there are mountains here, but do any of them have forests near them? If there's one like that it would be easier to just find a cave there than build a shelter.

I learned that the hard way when I was little. One of my castles got washed away in a storm.

Hm...? I've heard of a place called Mt. Moon over here in Kanto, but I wouldn't know in Johto.

And how many is that? Just because the few people you've met have been people who've littered doesn't mean anything. There are a lot of people in the world!

But with reading you can learn about things that you'd never be able to see!

Sure, you can use video fine, but what about text? If you can't read and you can't write, there's no way you can do that, right? [She doesn't even know that the pokegear can read things out loud, she hasn't exactly bothered to read all of the instructions just yet.]

[She's going to find some reason to show him that reading is important somehow. Just watch her!]

Dry or smoked? Wouldn't that get boring after a while? [Oh no Rinoa, don't start on the topic of food, this conversation will go on forever if you do.]

I'm sure there are plenty of things in a city, even for you. [She's just not sure what yet.]
usedcharm: ([Srs] Perfect every way)

[Never.]

Say the first ten dark type pokemon you meet are all mean, attacking everyone and everything that gets to close. Would you just assume that ever dark type pokemon is like that?

How do you know you aren't going to see them? I bet you never thought you'd end up on a strange world either.

[She's stubborn too, she'll find a way. Watch her send him books on pokemon anatomy and how to better care for them or something in the future.]

We have special appliances that keep food cold or freeze it depending on where you put it. That way food stays fresh longer and we don't have to worry about food going bad quite so much anymore.

.... I don't know yet, because I still don't know you very well. [At least she can admit this.]

And lots of people yell at people who litter. It works both ways.

[They're both so stubborn, they could probably argue about this forever.]

[What? No! Cheating is bad, Apollo. Stop that!]

They come in really handy. [Then she realizes something, important question time.] What about music?

[She finds it hard to imagine life without music.]
usedcharm: ([Srs] If i did it would sound like)

Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

[Yes, she's really going to pull this one.]

If a tree falls in the forest, and there's no one around to hear it. Does it still make a sound?

[Oh Rinoa, that's not an analogy that's going to work really well here.]

Music doesn't always sound like this, it can sound like a lot of things.

[She'll be so sad to hear that, and probably find that just as tragic as living in a cave.]
usedcharm: ([Stubborn] But I don't think)

[She's the right blend of off-beat and optimistic to totally say that with a straight face. She's a special kind of person.]

No one said there was only one tree, it's a forest. That means there are a lot of trees.

[The music thing would have heart her poor heart anyway, it's for the best.]

[ It's still a concern to her if only because she's failed to pick up on it herself. ]

Yes, it should be a useful one. Perhaps someone in the area might be able to purchase it for you?

[ However: ] Ah, but are there not Pokemon who enjoy the rain? It would be a honor for some to do that for their trainers.
usedcharm: ([Serious] I know there's something)

Knowing isn't the same as hearing.

[personal profile] ex_cashcow493 2012-07-08 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean you could send them the money through a Pokemon that can travel and they can buy it for you. Why would you travel to a city that you do not wish to visit for such an item when someone might be able to do a favor?

[ It seems simple to her. ]

Then you should look for a grass-type Pokemon. They tend to enjoy the water, do they not?

[personal profile] ex_cashcow493 2012-07-11 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
Surely there is someone who is kind and has time on their hand. You should ask regardless.

... Ah, is it? Perhaps so. I am afraid I am inexperienced when it comes to Pokemon and the rain. Although I must question why you do not choose to capture Pokemon. While I have not done so myself, it seems to be a common thing in this place.

Well, even if you choose not to, there are alternative ways to acquiring Pokemon. Many that come from eggs tend to be loyal and adapt to their trainer's needs.

Your words are sensible and respectable, yet you will find yourself in a small percentage of those who think in that manner. As for me, I try to offer them to come home with me.

Mean..? [ This man's own take on the world of Johto was strange to her. ] It creates a stronger bond between trainer and Pokemon if they are hatched in their care. I suppose in that sense the trainer falls into the mother role.

That's not the point though!

[Though if she's honest, she doesn't really know what the point of that saying even is.]
