Apollo's Home

Apollo lives with his maternal grandfather in a south-facing apartment on the top floor of a tower relatively close to the southern wall. It has a very nice view of the wilderness beyond the wall. His grandfather downsized after his daughter moved out and his wife passed away and didn't choose it with the expectation of anyone other than his Pokémon sharing the space with him. The apartment was originally bigger, but when he got it he called in favors (and may have made "donations" to someone) to have it modified; the balcony was drastically enlarged and opened to the sky by cutting away the roof and taking away most of the interior space of the apartment, leaving it nothing more than a single smallish main room, a simple bathroom, and a tiny storage room that's used mainly for clothes. The enlarged balcony has been turned into a garden filled with various edible, medicinal, and just plain interesting plants, many of which were grown from cuttings and seeds he brought back from the wilderness. His Pokémon maintain it when he's not around and have it set up as something akin to neutral territory for any Pokémon who want to stop by; Apollo's Fletchling was one such Pokémon originally.

The apartment itself is sparsely furnished with a pair of simple beds, bookcases, a work surface for food preparation, and something like a kotatsu; Apollo and his grandfather both prefer to sit on the floor, and Apollo himself will often sleep on the floor instead of in his bed or on the balcony when the weather`s nice. There`s very little in the way of decoration, as neither of them have much interest in accumulating useless possessions. Most of the things that aren`t strictly practical are confined to the bookshelves, most notably Grandpa`s collection of books. The books are mostly reference works, with the occasional piece of fiction or poetry tucked among them, but a few of them, passed down through the family over the years, predate the war and might not have duplicates in any of Union`s libraries.

The apartment is kept reasonably neat and clean, but it`s inhabited by two guys and several Pokémon, so there`s only so clean it will ever get.
