I haven't looked at which Pokémon the gym leader uses yet, just that the gym is Steel-type. The Pokémon with me have a lot of Fighting-type moves and some Ground-type moves though, so if they're strong enough they should be able to win.
[Also he has Lea's Growlithe in his box (which he doesn't know about yet) which will help, but this is really a bad match-up for him.]
