[The feed comes on to show a nice blizzard and thick snow, as seen from the shelter of the entrance to a cave, with the flickering light of a fire coming from somewhere behind the camera. It's a bit loud, but the camera's deep enough into the cave that the sound isn't overwhelming. After a bit Apollo speaks up.]
It's really getting thick out there.
[A pause for a moment.]
There's something about when the snow really piles up. It tells you that you've run out of time to prepare for winter and now it's time to hope that what you've done is enough. All you can do is wait and see. It's a good feeling when you feel like you're ready, but when you know you aren't you almost feel sick. I know I'm not as ready as I need to be. I got started later than usual here. I'll have to go out and get more food before spring, but at least I'll just need to spend some time in Mahogany Town rather than try and hunt in the middle of winter.
From what I-[The feed cuts to static for a few seconds. When it comes back, it's showing Apollo looking at the gear in confusion. He's wearing a length of white cloth wrapped around his head with part of it bunched under his chin, looking like he had it over his face like a balaclava and just pulled it down so that he could talk clearly. The leather biker jacket from the Yamask possession can be glimpsed under his cloak a few times as he moves, and the rock wall of the cave is visible behind him.]
That was strange. But back to what I was about to say, from what I've heard it doesn't sound like most humans here prepare for winter much. It sounds like they just rely on going to the stores like normal, even when the weather's bad. Why wouldn't you want to get everything you need before winter comes? Then you wouldn't have to go out in weather like this.
[Another pause, during which the image turns a bit grainy for a moment.]
One other thing that I'm wondering is, what do most people do when they can't go outside? Winter's always the most boring season since you have to stay inside a lot and there aren't many interesting things to do.

[He pauses, adjusting the scarf around his neck.]
But when I can't go out, I usually find something else to do. Read, watch whatever's on TV, hang close to my friends and team. Sometimes we'll just train indoors.
I can't read and I don't have a TV. I'm not sure how much training we could do here. There isn't that much space. I'll definitely be staying close to my friends though. Some of them wanted to stay in the PC while it's cold, but the others were okay with staying out with me. [A faint and ever so slightly sad smile.] It's nice to be able to spend the winter with someone else again.
And at least you've got friends to hang with. That's better than being cooped up on your own; if nothing else, they might keep you busy somehow.
Maybe. I'll have people to talk to at least. [Yeah, he considers animals to be people.]
[At the mention of people, though, Riku raises an eyebrow.]
You mean over the 'Gears?

Heck, I'm guilty of treating them as tools to battle in the past, but that was ages ago.
It's good that you don't treat them like tools anymore. I wish that the other people here who do would stop too.
[But then, it's easy to come to those conclusions.]
And believe me, more people should treat them differently. But the ones who act all abusive usually aren't that smart. Or if they are, they're just plain apathetic to pain.

[The mun has no idea how Apollo talking to trees actually works and is glad Route doesn't require an explanation.]
Like Cobra Commander. He says that he knows that Pokémon have feelings and doesn't care.
[Their whole biology is totally different, really.]
And the thing is, some people don't care about the feelings of anyone human or Pokémon. I'm lucky that most people I know do, but I can't say the same about my Garchomp.

They don't sound like things that I would want to do.

[Blizzard aren't exactly convenient for walks, after all.]

It would need to be a big fang to use it as a knife. I'm not sure how strong a knife it would make either. Do you know if there are any Pokémon who shed really big fangs? The only ones that I can think of with really large fangs are Gyarados, and I don't know if they shed them or not. They don't like to talk much.

And not all people rely solely on their own resources to get by; stores just are a way of sharing goods between different people.
*.....there's more he could say to Apollo's questions, but he doesn't feel THAT talkative just now*
[Video]
People should be able to do something on their own though. The things in the stores have to come from somewhere and you need money to get them. If something happened to whoever brings things to the stores or you run out of money you wouldn't be able to get anything.
Re: [Video]
*shrugs a bit at the second question*
It's rare that that happens, especially in large cities. When it does, though, it's a disaster for everyone, not just the ones needing to buy food.
