[Video/Action for Mahogany Town]

[For those who pay attention to backgrounds, Apollo's sitting against a tree near the Mahogany Town PokéCenter, turning over a standard pokéball in one hand and looking a bit worried.]

Has anyone ever met a Pokémon who didn't want to come out of their pokéball and wanted to be left in the PC Box all the time? I thought that they would all want to come out as much as they could, but he doesn't. Does this happen a lot with Pokémon?

[He opens the pokéball to release...

...a Yamask that goes flying straight for the pokéball, yelling in pokéspeak as it does.]

Put me back in the PC! I don't wanna forget again! Let me in the ball!

[Apollo swings the ball around wildly for a few seconds so that the viewers can actually see the Yamask before it returns to its ball. It finally manages to get inside after a moment of that and Apollo returns his attention back to the camera.]

I found him in the PC Box when I was in Goldenrod a while ago. I think he might be the Yamask who was controlling my body before, but I don't remember catching him. The only thing that I've been able to get him to tell me is that he's afraid of disappearing or forgetting something, so he wants to stay in the PC Box because those things won't happen there? He's like this every time I try and take him out. He won't stay out long enough for me to ask him anything else.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

I haven't either. It sounds like it's something that's trying to keep everyone from doing what they want to do. And it's why everyone can only have six Pokémon with them at a time.

Yeah, it's annoying. I hate having to leave anyone in the PC.

Same here. Most of them don't seem to mind it, but it seems like it'd get lonely in there, right?

Or at least boring. At least some of the ones who are with me are okay with it, otherwise I would have to send some away or try and force them into the PC, and I don't want to do something like that.

Yeah. It'd be horrible to force them in there if they weren't okay with it.

Yeah. They understand that they can't all be out at once, so that makes it a bit easier at least.

Have you got any particular way to decide who comes out when? I draw straws to try to be mostly fair, but I'm not sure if there's a better way...

I try and let them decide on their own as much as I can. Fearow's never going to go in the PC. He hates being in his ball, even if it's raining and he'll get wet if he stays out. Furret and Terror Watcher are both staying out for a while, since Furret wants to make sure Terror Watcher learns everything he needs to while he's young. He'll probably start spending some time in the PC once it gets really cold out though. I try to make sure that the others get to spend time with each other and trade places often. Since there's a PC at the resort at the Lake of Rage, I think I'm going to start walking over every morning to let everyone trade places. That seems like the best way to make sure that no one has to a long time in the PC at once.

I still wish that I could let them all come out at once though.

Ahh, well, letting all of mine decide amongst themselves would get hairy, since somehow I've got twenty of them at this point...

But that'd be best, right? If they could all come out at once. I mean, it's probably so that people don't get overwhelmed... or can't overwhelm others, I guess... but it's not fair to the Pokémon.

No, it's not fair to them. If any of them wanted to leave so they wouldn't have to go into the PC I'd let them, but they all want to stay with me.

[Because every single one of Apollo's Pokémon (except Yamask) are at maximum Happiness. Someone get the kid some Return TMs.]

You know, I tell all of them that they don't have to stay if they don't want to, and Rose hits me for it, every time. I'm sort of starting to have an idea about why... ahh, but I wouldn't really want to just assume about all Pokémon.
