[Apollo's been here over a year, and yet in that time he's never once attempted to use anything other than video to talk to people. Which is why there'll be a few posts of keysmashes and drawings that look like someone accidentally brushed the screen with their finger before the audio post comes on. When it does, he sounds both concerned and confused.]

I think this is working now?

...I'm not sure where I am. The map on the pokégear is showing Kanto, but it isn't saying where I am and I don't recognize this route. Something's weird though. Even though I'm only walking in a straight line I keep suddenly appearing at the place on the route that I first woke up at. The Pokémon who were with me aren't here anymore either. I only have Combee, Solrock, and Yamask with me now, and the pokéballs for the others aren't in my bag.

I've woken up in places that I've never been before twice while I've been here, but this is the first time that it's happened more than once at a time. Does anyone know how to stop this so I can go somewhere else?

...There's also a skeleton that looks kind of like a big praying mantis following me. I think it's a Pokémon, but I can't use the pokédex on the gear for some reason so I can't check. I tried talking to it, but when I did it felt like I hit my head on something and I woke up with a really bad headache. Does anyone know what kind of Pokémon it is?

[The feed comes on to show a forest, mostly clear of snow save for some stubborn drifts that have taken shelter beneath the evergreens. Exactly where this is isn't clear, though the music is that of the Lake of Rage, so that at least gives a general area. Apollo's voice comes from off-camera.]

It's almost spring now. I think that spring is my favorite season. You don't need to shelter from the cold and snow all the time and you can watch all the plants start to bud and the seeds sprout after being buried under the snow. Everything's beginning fresh. The best part about this spring though is that it's warm enough again that I don't have to wear shoes anymore. My feet have been sore wearing boots all the time, even worse than just putting on shoes to go into a store or work at the Pokémon Center. Covering your feet makes sense if you're going out in the snow, but I still don't understand why people keep wanting me to wear shoes to come inside where the floors aren't cold, or why anyone would want shoes to have such thick bottoms. I can't feel the ground when I'm wearing shoes and they seem like they're shaped to make me walk differently. They aren't comfortable.

[He suddenly realizes that he's off on a tangent about one of his pet peeves with this world and forces himself off of the topic. Unfortunately for the viewers, he fails to provide a segue.]

Once it gets warmer and the ground softens, I'm going to try planting some of the berries that I got from the berry orchard in Pallet Town. They're supposed to need to be kept warm all the time in something called a "hothouse". They don't look like they're hard to make. I'll just need to find materials to make them out of. I can probably find something useful in Goldenrod City.

I think I've figured out what kinds of places the berry plants on the routes grow best in, but the people at the berry orchard couldn't tell me much about where the plants that they were growing grow naturally. Has anyone else tried to grow berries?

[The feed comes on to show a nice blizzard and thick snow, as seen from the shelter of the entrance to a cave, with the flickering light of a fire coming from somewhere behind the camera. It's a bit loud, but the camera's deep enough into the cave that the sound isn't overwhelming. After a bit Apollo speaks up.]

It's really getting thick out there.

[A pause for a moment.]

There's something about when the snow really piles up. It tells you that you've run out of time to prepare for winter and now it's time to hope that what you've done is enough. All you can do is wait and see. It's a good feeling when you feel like you're ready, but when you know you aren't you almost feel sick. I know I'm not as ready as I need to be. I got started later than usual here. I'll have to go out and get more food before spring, but at least I'll just need to spend some time in Mahogany Town rather than try and hunt in the middle of winter.

From what I-[The feed cuts to static for a few seconds. When it comes back, it's showing Apollo looking at the gear in confusion. He's wearing a length of white cloth wrapped around his head with part of it bunched under his chin, looking like he had it over his face like a balaclava and just pulled it down so that he could talk clearly. The leather biker jacket from the Yamask possession can be glimpsed under his cloak a few times as he moves, and the rock wall of the cave is visible behind him.]

That was strange. But back to what I was about to say, from what I've heard it doesn't sound like most humans here prepare for winter much. It sounds like they just rely on going to the stores like normal, even when the weather's bad. Why wouldn't you want to get everything you need before winter comes? Then you wouldn't have to go out in weather like this.

[Another pause, during which the image turns a bit grainy for a moment.]

One other thing that I'm wondering is, what do most people do when they can't go outside? Winter's always the most boring season since you have to stay inside a lot and there aren't many interesting things to do.

[For those who pay attention to backgrounds, Apollo's sitting against a tree near the Mahogany Town PokéCenter, turning over a standard pokéball in one hand and looking a bit worried.]

Has anyone ever met a Pokémon who didn't want to come out of their pokéball and wanted to be left in the PC Box all the time? I thought that they would all want to come out as much as they could, but he doesn't. Does this happen a lot with Pokémon?

[He opens the pokéball to release...

...a Yamask that goes flying straight for the pokéball, yelling in pokéspeak as it does.]

Put me back in the PC! I don't wanna forget again! Let me in the ball!

[Apollo swings the ball around wildly for a few seconds so that the viewers can actually see the Yamask before it returns to its ball. It finally manages to get inside after a moment of that and Apollo returns his attention back to the camera.]

I found him in the PC Box when I was in Goldenrod a while ago. I think he might be the Yamask who was controlling my body before, but I don't remember catching him. The only thing that I've been able to get him to tell me is that he's afraid of disappearing or forgetting something, so he wants to stay in the PC Box because those things won't happen there? He's like this every time I try and take him out. He won't stay out long enough for me to ask him anything else.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

[Apollo doesn't fully understand why people make badge posts, but his team is resting after the battle so he might as well, right? He definitely needs to do something to calm down after spending the entire battle worrying about his team's safety. Plus there's something he wants to check on.

So the video opens with a shot of Fearow, Furret, and Sawsbuck resting in the Ecruteak park. In the background you may catch glimpses of Combee gathering nectar from some flowers and Vespiquen hovering nearby. After a moment of this the camera whips around to show the Fog Badge and Strength HM he won in his hand, then moves to show his face. He looks like he's doing better since the last badge post he made.]

It took two tries, but they managed to beat the Ecruteak City Gym. The Pokémon there have some really strong moves, especially the one that makes other Pokémon faint after a while. I almost couldn't call Fearow back in time, but I kept them all from fainting, so it worked out.

They want to try to beat another gym so I was thinking we would go to the one in Olivine since it gives two HMs. I was wondering though, how much longer will it be until the first snows come? It feels like I'll have time, but I want to make sure.

[The feed opens on Apollo sitting against a tree in Goldenrod, holding a shiny new Plain Badge and Rock Smash HM. A pile of empty Potion spray bottles is visible beside him at the edge of the frame. For someone doing a badge post he doesn't look that happy. He seems more worried than anything.]

I don't get why the badge is supposed to be the important part. The HM is more useful.

[He glances off-camera at something for a moment before looking back and getting to the reason he's making this post.]

Are all the gym battles this hard? Everyone fought really hard, but if that Miltank had lasted much longer they would have lost. They're all pretty tired after that battle, but even though it was really close this time they still want to try and beat the gym in Ecruteak City after this. I'm not sure anymore. If they can win here can they win at the Ecruteak City Gym?

[The video opens on the Lake of Rage, before angling down to show Apollo's face. He's lying on his back in the grass next to the lake. Unlike some of his previous posts, he's not just his usual calm self. He's in a good mood right now, if that contented smile is anything to go by.]

This place really reminds me of home. A lake, a forest, mountains... The giant water snakes who sometimes try to eat me when I go swimming are different, but other than that it's a lot like home. It's nice here. The Pokémon with me like it too.

[The arm holding the gear falls to the ground and the camera films the sky through blades of grass for a while before Apollo sits up and points it back at his face. He's serious now.]

What do I need to know to beat the gym in Goldenrod City? How do I know if the Pokémon with me are strong enough to win?

[Video / Action for Route 34]

[The feed comes on to show a full-body view of Apollo, which doesn't really say much, since his green cloak covers everything except his head, bare feet, and his right arm holding a pokéball. The camera wobbles a bit, since this is Sentret's first time as cameramon.]

John, I thought you would want to know that the egg I got from you hatched. Is it normal for Pokémon to hatch bigger than the egg? I don't understand how it could have fit inside.

[He opens the pokéball to release a Golett. A Golett that's significantly larger than usual, at about 4'9". This also shows that Apollo himself is fairly short, at 5 feet and a few inches at best. The Golett glances around, spies the Sentret and the Deerling behind the camera, and proceeds to try and hide behind Apollo. After a moment of this it realizes how badly it's failing at remaining unseen and it reaches around Apollo to grab onto the pokéball and return inside. Apollo linefaces slightly. He hates keeping his Pokémon in their balls, but Golett won't stay out for long.]

It's really shy.

[He lowers his arm and the edge of his cloak slips down and covers it again. He glances up at the sky.]

The other thing I was going to say is that Spearow "evolved" today. [Apollo is suddenly in shadow.] He looks like he would be big enough to carry me, but when I tried he couldn't get off the ground. I know you need the "Surf" HM if you want to ride a Pokémon over the water. Is there one that lets you ride them in the air?

[The camera wobbles as a strong wind comes from above, and the cameramon points it up at the source of the wind. Remember that larger than average Spearow Apollo had? It turned into a much larger than average Fearow that is now coming in for a landing.]

FEEEEAAAAR!

[Comparing that cry to the screams of the damned in Hell wouldn't be far off. I hope you weren't planning on sleeping tonight.]

[The feed comes on to show Apollo in scrubs behind the front desk of the Azalea PokéCenter. It's been a slow day and he hasn't had very much to do besides stand there and think about the problem that the rain is hammering home. He hates to admit it, but it looks like he's stuck having to ask other humans for help on this one.]

Does anyone know how to build a shelter that's good for all the seasons? Ilex Forest isn't mountainous enough to have caves. I was thinking that digging some kind of burrow in a hill would work, but I don't know how to make a roof that would stay up and water wouldn't come through. I know there are mountains here, but do any of them have forests near them? If there's one like that it would be easier to just find a cave there than build a shelter.

[Video | Action for Route 31]

[The feed comes on to show Apollo walking along Route 31 with a Sentret on one shoulder and a large Spearow preening on his other shoulder, the image shaking as he walks. There's a pause before he says anything.]

Can anyone else talk to the animals here? Where you hear what they say in your head? Or can most humans not do that?

[He ends the feed and waits for an answer. He doesn't like the idea of having to ask random humans, but if it turns out that most people can't hear what plants and animals are saying, maybe that's why they can hurt them so easily. He'd always assumed that they knew how much pain they were causing and didn't care, but if they didn't know...]
