whateveryoueatliveitspart[54 Combee eggs. That's what this video opens on. Someone who's been to the Lake of Rage before might recognize them as being in the cheapest cabin in the resort, but they fill so much of the shot that it's hard to see anything else besides the eggs and the Vespiquen and Combee who are responsible for filling up Apollo's PC box nearly to capacity over the last several months.
Apollo's voice comes from behind the camera.]
Vespiquen and Combee have been getting ready to start a hive for a while now, so they've been laying eggs and having me keep them in the PC. Vespiquen decided that they had enough eggs now, so she's going to let them hatch. She wanted to show them to everyone first though.
[Vespiquen speaks up in pokéspeak.]
With my trainer's assistance I have amassed a vast starting population for my future domain! Surely no other Vespiquen in history has presided over so many children at their hive's inception! I doubt that any of you watching this will have their offspring turn out even remotely as impressive as mine!
[Apollo isn't going to bother translating that for the non-Pokémon who are watching. Vespiquen doesn't need her ego stroked. A question occurs to him though, one that he had assumed the answer to already but hadn't actually asked yet.]
These eggs are all going to hatch at around the same time, right?
They will.
I should make sure that they all have food waiting for them then. You two are going to be busy.

She's motioning and chatting away to Vespiquen in pokespeak in a manner that indicates that she knows her children are going to be just as strong as their parents are, and it's because of their strength that they should be careful where their hive is - and also, that a queen should have a hive that's as beautiful as she is, and sometimes the most beautiful places are a little further out. Not too far, because of course they don't want to be far from their Trainer, but just a little ways.]

[Dii-chan certainly knows how to get on Vespiquen's good side. She replies that she already has a wonderful location picked for her hive, and her trainer has planted extra flowers nearby to make it even better. It won't be too far from where her trainer usually stays, but once all of her eggs have hatched her trainer will be releasing them all so that they'll be able to focus on the hive.]

Date: 2013-06-26 08:34 pm (UTC)I'm a singer, and I once got so upset about something I lost my voice right before a really big concert - and it just made me even more nervous and upset. Nothing was wrong with my throat or anything, I just couldn't sing or even talk because I was upset. Stuff like that happens, you know?
But it sounds like there isn't anything to worry about here, at all. Congratulations, to all three of you!
[Dii-chan's face lights up, then. It sounds wonderful, and she congratulates Vespiquen in a heartfelt way. Of course, there was never any doubt about all of this in her mind - a queen always has a plan! She and Combee are going to have a perfect hive, and they have every right to be proud and happy. Dii-chan has a compliment for their trainer, too, for working so hard to help make their dream come true. It's delivered with a bit of a musical tone to it, so it stands out, even in pokespeak.]

[Nagisa's only been half-paying attention to the conversation Dii-chan and Vespiquen have been having. She trusts her friend not to say anything mean or insulting. The Audino likes music as much as her Trainer does, so even the little musical lilt in her tone isn't that much of a surprise. That response sure gets her, though, and she has to pause and blink for a little bit before realizing what just happened.]
Well, if Dii-chan says you were helping out, then I trust that she's right. She's got a way of figuring things like that out. Even if Vespiquen did lay all of the eggs herself - and that's a lot of hard work, Vespiquen! You and Combee both must be really excited that things are coming together - they wouldn't be where they are without help from you. Is that it, Dii-chan?
